The 1 Minute Laugh
A lady is having a bad day at the tables in Las Vegas. Down to her last $ 100, completely exasperated, she cries, "What rotten luck! What in the world should I do now?"
A man next to her, trying to calm her down a bit suggests, "I don't know.......why don't you play your age?"
He walks away. Moments later, he is intrigued to hear a great commotion at the roulette table. Well, he thinks, maybe she won.
Rushing back to the table and pushing his way through the crowd, he is stunned to see the lady lying limp on the floor, with the table operator kneeling over her.
He asks, "What happened? Is she all right?"
The operator replies, "I don't know, buddy......she put all her her money on 27. When 35 came up, she fainted!"

What does happiness do for your health?p
A study published in the journal of the National Academy of Sciences studied the link between happiness and health in 200 adults.
The study group consisted of men and women, who were government employees living in London, England. The participants were between the ages of 45 and 59 and were diagnosed with heart disease or high blood pressure. All were several years away from retirement. The women in the study group had gone or were through menopause.
The participants were assessed on regular workdays as well as weekends. They were measured both at work and at play on a number of factors such as blood pressure, heart rate, cortisol stress, hormone levels and blood fibrinogen levels ( a marker for inflammation which can predict heart disease ).
Careful measurements were taken under normal conditions and immediately after a mental stress test. Participants rated their happiness levels on a scale of 1 (low) to 5 (high).
There was a difference in happiness found between married, single, male, female, as well as being participants from the various socio-economic status levels.
What they found was that the happiest participants had the best results for the afore mentioned health markers.
The happier participants had lower heart rates even after considering factors such as age, BMI, and lifestyle differences like physical activity, smoking and workplace status.
Happier people averaged 32% lower levels of stress hormone cortisol, which can effect on health factors from blood pressure to sugar levels.
Another endorsement that a cheerful outlook on life may keep you feeling better physically and mentally.
