The 1 Minute Laugh

John was on his deathbed and gasped pitifully. "Grant me one last request dear," he said.

``Of course John,``his wife said softly. ``Six months after I die,`` he said. ``I want you to marry Bob.``

``But I thought you hated Bob,`` she said. With his last breath John said, ``I do!``

Humor from our richest 'Humor Resource'......our kids

One day my mother was out, and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 and a half years old. Someone had given me a little tea set as a gift, and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him a little cup of tea, which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots osf praise for such yummy tea, my mom came home.

My dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because he thought that it was just the cutest thing.

Mom waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for daddy, and she watched me drink it.

The she said to my dad, ``Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach the water is the toilet!`` Feature of the month

Optimism, health and happiness

Being optimistic and expecting good things can make a peson healthier and could even lengthen your life span according to researcher Suzanne Segerstrom, who is co-author of a review of studies on the benefits of having a postive attitude.

A positive mindset helps even when one is not feeling well. When researchers looked at people with similar medical conditions, they could predict who was likely to live longer. It was the optimist who felt his health was better.

The optimistic feeling of wellness is important even when we are ill. Optimism is also known to buffer against stress.

Negative emotions and anxiety are detrimental to the body especially to our immune and cardiovascular systems.

Optimism aappears to protect us against the negative effects. Research also shows that people who are optimistic about what faces them develop different behaviors.

They are more active, excercise, follow a better diet and are less likely to smoke.

Furthermore when they get sick, they tend to more actively participate in their treatment.

Happiness is an outflow of optimism in that it inserts the belief that things will turn out well. And although happiness can fluctuate, the mind of the optimist is usually stable on this issue.

Even though good things happen to everyone, pessimists most often don`t notice.

So pessimists should do what optimists do - work hard to reach one`s goals, as each accomplishment will make it easier to be hopeful about the next one.
