Laughter motivational quote of the month

"If you have no tragedy, you have no comedy. Crying and laughing are the same emotion. If you laugh too hard, you cry and visa versa." - Sid Ceasar

Humor/Happiness facts/quotes

We used to laugh 18 times a day in the 1950's. Today people only laugh 4 - 6 times a day.

The 1 Minute Laugh

A woman in the nude is looking in her bedroom mirror. She is not happy with what she sees and says to he husband, "I feel horrible, I look old, fat, and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment."

The husband replies, "Your eyesight is darn near perfect!"

And that's how the fight started........

Humor from our richest 'Humor Resource'......our kids

A little boy was waiting for his mother to come out of the grocery store. As he waited, he was approached by a man who asked," Can you tell me where the Post Office is?"

The little boy replied, "Sure! Just go straight down this street a couple of blocks and turn to your right."

The man thanked the boy kindly and said,"I'm the new pastor. I'd like you to come to church Sunday and I'll show you how to get to heaven."

The little boy replied with a chuckle, "Awww, come on now, you don't even know the way to the Post Office."

Why can't I be as happy as the next person?

We all know people who look and behave as if they were born happy. They produce a ready smile, they laugh spontaneously, they have a true love of life.

Then there are others whose happiness is in a constant flux. Many people view happiness as something that is a pursuit for perfection, the perfect spouse, the perfect house, the perfect kids, the perfect job.

However, that is not where happiness is found. Happiness happens from within us. We all were born with a certain level of happiness.

Research has found that 50% of our happiness is determined by genetics and 10% by circumstances, leaving 40% that we can nurture by motivation, attitude and self-determination.

It is a known fact that some people struggle with their weight and have to continuously work hard to lose or maintain their weight. So it is with happiness, some people have to work harder at being happy.

There are some definite positive side effects of being happy. Happy people are more successful, enjoy stronger relationships, get sick less often, lead more positive and hopeful lives, and they bounce back more quickly from bad experiences.

Researchers are in agreement that certain personal qualities and character strengths are predictive of happier lives.

Optimism, gratitude, healthy curiosity, ability and willingness to give and receive love are highly predictive of happy individuals, according to researchers of happiness.

If you lose your zest for laughter - you lose your zest for life!
