Workplace laughter
There has been a tremendous change in organizations in the past 15-20 years. Workplace laughter used to be regarded as silly and non-productive. Today many well-known North-American companies have come to realize that humor and laughter can assist in making their workplaces more effective and successful.
Organizations such as:
Bank of America
General Electric
AT&T
Lockheed Aircraft
Kodak
IBM
Southwest Airlines
Westjet Airlines ( Canada )
Many more small and medium sized organizations are adopting humor and laughter into their workplaces.
Amazingly, Southwest Airlines and Westjet Airlines are the two airlines that have outperformed all other North-American Airlines.
Work should be fun
Because, let's face it, unless you win a sizeable lottery, you will be spending a long time in the workforce.
In a recent survey by Industrial Work and Training group, conducted with managers from a variety of organizations, they found that there is overwhelming support for having 'fun' in the workplace.
The respondents reported that when there is fun in the workplace:

solving
